I cannot attend the course/seminar I enrolled for. What are my options?

Please refer to the terms and conditions of your enrolment (found online, and on your Enrolment Confirmation letter). In particular, please note the following specific sections:

2. Refunds for Classroom Training/Seminars/Workshops/Online Seminars: Full refunds are only given if notification of the cancellation of the enrolment is received 10 full working days prior to course commencement.
Notification of cancellation received between 9 and 5 working days will result in a credit being created for that client, to be used on any MYOB product or service.
Notification of cancellation received between 4 and 1 working days prior to the course/event will receive a credit less a $30 admin fee.
No refund or credit will be given if the participant does not attend the course/event without notification in advance.

3. Transfers for Classroom Training/Seminars/Workshops/Online Seminars: Transfers between courses can be arranged if notification is received 5 full working days before the commencement of the course from which you wish to transfer.
Transfers requested less than 5 full working days before the commencement of the course/event will incur a $30 administration fee. No transfer will be allowed if the participant does not attend the course/event without giving notification in advance.

Refund: If you meet the terms and conditions for a refund, please submit your request, including the reason for the refund, to training@myob.com.au.

Transfer: Should you wish to transfer your course, and you meet the terms and conditions as outlined above, please send an email, along with the reason for the transfer, to training@myob.com.au

Seminar: If you did not attend the seminar you were enrolled for, MYOB will mark your enrolment as a ‘No Show’. This means we will send out the seminar manual and notes, to the address marked on the account, in due course.

I will not be able to attend the training course/seminar I enrolled for and would like to send someone else in my place. How can I do that?

You will need to contact us by phone on 1300 555 151 9.00am to 5.00pm AEDST to arrange the transfer. This must be done prior to the course date, and you may not send someone in your place without advising us first. Approval must also be given before the new attendee can participate.

You may also email us with the request to training@myob.com.au , ensuring you provide 4 points of account identification that we can confirm (account name, your name, phone number and email address on file), and the details of the new person that your enrolment should be transferred to (including their email address)*.

Once a transfer is made, the new participant will receive a Training Confirmation email to the email address supplied.

*Please note: we can only transfer courses to someone else on the same account.

I attended an MYOB classroom training course, but I would like to do it again. What is the Training Guarantee?

The Training Guarantee is an exclusive offer for those who have attended classroom based training with us, and find they did not make the most of the course. This offer means the client can attend the same course again, at no additional cost, provided it is done within three months of the initial enrolment, and the training manual that was supplied is brought back in with them. MYOB is not able to offer a new training manual.

To claim the Training Guarantee an application must be made in writing, and can be emailed to training@myob.com.au. A reason for the request must be provided, and an alternate date for the same course nominated. If approved, the client will receive an email advising them, and an Enrolment Confirmation will also be sent.

Please note: we are unable to transfer your course under Training Guarantee, so once a date has been selected and enrolment processed under this program we will be unable to change it.

I recently completed an MYOB classroom based training course, but my name on the Certificate is wrong. How can I get that fixed?

Please email training@myob.com.au with your request, ensuring you advise us of the correct spelling and your mailing address. Once your enrolment has been confirmed, a new Certificate will be issued and mailed to the address on file.

Please allow two weeks for delivery.

I am located too far away from one of your training centres. Can I order the training manual instead?

The classroom training manuals are not available for separate sale unless you are an MYOB Partner (Certified Consultants, Approved Bookkeepers, Accredited Trainers, and Professional Partners). This is because they are not designed for self paced learning, and are therefore unsuitable for learning at home.

We do have a range of other printed training resources you may find useful, including Training in a Book-Bookkeeping for Beginners, Performance Measures  seminar DVD and manual and Get Smarter seminar DVD and manual.

And don’t forget our online training, ‘Setting Up with MYOB’, or look out for our Online Seminars that we run from time to time.

Do you offer any online training courses?

We have two online training courses: BusinessBasics Software - MYOB Online Learning, and Setting Up - MYOB Online Learning.
BusinessBasics Software - MYOB Online Learning is for those who own the software, MYOB BusinessBasics. It is not suitable for those who own our other accounting products.

Setting Up -MYOB Online Learning is based on our classroom training of the same name.

The course consists of 8 modules:

  • Accounting Basics
  • Using Your Software
  • Creating a Company File
  • Setting up an Accounts List
  • Creating Customer & Supplier Cards
  • Creating Items
  • Performing an Initial Bank Reconciliation
  • Backing up & Restoring

Each module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

The full course can be completed in around 5 hours - however it is recommended you complete the course over time for an optimal learning experience.
Online training is available to you for 6 months, and a training manual is also provided.

We also offer a range of online seminars, which you can attend from the convenience from your own home or office. Keep an eye on our website for the latest topics and online seminar schedule.

I have enrolled into an online training course (BusinessBasics or SettingUp) but have not received my login details.

It takes up to 24 business hours to receive your login details. Enrolment into an online course does not automatically occur once you have made payment, as access to the online training site needs to be set up.

You should receive notification of your details a day or so later after you have received your tax invoice, (please allow for the weekend as we are not open then), and as this comes to you via email, it is vital you have given us the correct email address. The email will contain details such as web address, user name and password.

If you have not received your login email two business days after having paid, please email training@myob.com.au directly for further assistance.

What training manuals can I purchase from MYOB to study with at home?

There are a variety of training manuals you can purchase to use at home, however classroom training manuals are not available for separate purchase, unless you are registered as a Partner with us (Certified Consultants, Approved Bookkeepers, Accredited Trainers, and Professional Partners). This is because they are not designed for self paced learning, and are therefore unsuitable for learning at home. For example, you must attend Day to Day Processes classroom training in order to receive the manual for this course.

Training resources you can purchase directly without having to attend a classroom are all of our seminar manuals and Training in a Book - Bookkeeping for Beginners, or Training in a Book - Time Billing.

We also offer two online training courses, MYOB BusinessBasics (for those who own that software), and Setting Up with MYOB, as well as running Online Seminars from time to time.

I am a Cover client. Do I get a discount on training courses?

MYOB offers a 15% discount on training for current Cover clients (you must be on Cover at the time of booking) or for those on 30 day Introductory Support (for new purchasers of the program).

This discount applies to all classroom and seminar enrolments, and is not retrospective. This means that if the enrolment progressed to payment stage, and the discount did not apply, we will not refund the balance. The onus is on you to ensure the correct amount of your training booking was applied at the time of payment.

Does MYOB offer onsite training?

Whilst MYOB class sizes are small and hands on, we understand that sometimes clients prefer to have someone come out and train them onsite. As we do not offer onsite training directly, we recommend you look for an MYOB Certified Consultant and ask the question of them.

MYOB Certified Consultants are certified by MYOB on an annual basis; however they are not employed by us, so we could not recommend one above the other, nor can we advise on their rates. Not all Certified Consultants offer training either, and they also have a range of skills that start at simple bookkeeping, all the way up to CPA’s.

The best place to locate one in your area is to go to www.myob.com.au/partners and search for one in your area.

I have been using other computerised accounting programs and now want to learn MYOB. What are the best courses for me?

If you have used other computerised accounting packages, you may be able to start with Day to Day Processes with MYOB. This will get you familiar with the program, as it covers Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and reconciling your bank accounts, enabling you to perform all those day to day tasks required in a business.

Of course, after that you may wish to do our more advanced courses, Payroll, and End of Period Reporting and BAS.

Do I get a certificate at the end of the course?

All our classroom course participants receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course. As no assessment is given, we cannot offer a Certificate of Attainment or similar.

If you were enrolled into the class just prior to its commencement (ie you enrolled the day before), a Certificate may not have been prepared in time for you. Should this be the case, please let your trainer know, so we can arrange one to be sent to you. Alternatively, you can email training@myob.com.au with your request.

Participants in our online courses (for BusinessBasics and Setting Up) do not receive a certificate.

How can I pay for my courses?

Credit card (MasterCard or Visa) is the best way to pay for your training as we do not accept enrolments without payment. You may do this online at www.myob.com.au/training, or call on 1300 555 151 during business hours.

Cheque payment can also be sent in with your registration form, but remember, places are not held without payment, and you need to allow time for us to receive and process your cheque before your enrolment is made. There is always a chance that a place may no longer be available so it is important you select a second preference for your course.

What courses do MYOB offer?

MYOB have a range of training courses to suit new learners, all the way through to more advanced users of MYOB software.

For example, if you are new to bookkeeping, and also need to learn MYOB, our MYOB Bookkeeping course is ideal.

If you already understand bookkeeping, but need to learn our software, then look at doing the Setting Up and Day to Day Processes course. This would be followed by Payroll and End of Period Reporting and Bas. Doing these will give you a thorough understanding of how to use your MYOB, and the confidence you are using it correctly.

More advanced users (those who have been using it for some time) will get much out of our courses Advanced Processes and Business Reporting and Analysis.

For more information, look online at www.myob.com.au/training.

I am learning MYOB at TAFE and I need some help with it. I have asked my trainer, and they suggested I contact you.

MYOB do not offer technical support for students, and you should seek assistance from your trainer. You may also find our Support Notes helpful, and these are freely available online at www.myob.com.au/support.

Does MYOB offer discounted software for students? I am learning it at school and want to practice it at home.

MYOB have a Student Edition CD, which contains 5 versions of our software (AccountRight Plus v19, AccountRight Premier v19, AccountRight Enterprise v19, AccountEdge v9, AssetManager v3.5, and RetailManager - POS - v11).

In addition, this includes the Student Edition Guide, Adobe Acrobat, User Guides, as well as BAS and EOFY resources. This CD is transaction limited (up to 2000 transactions per file), and should only be used for educational purposes.

You are able to open existing company files into it (ie classroom files), and can transfer files between computers, provided the version levels are the same (ie: between AccountRight v19 programs).

The cost is only $30.00 including postage and handling. The best way to order is over the phone with a credit card, on 1300 555 151.

No technical support is available for Student Edition. You should speak to your trainer regarding entries, and exercise assistance.
