Keeping your data safe

The security of your data is of utmost importance to MYOB. That’s why MYOB applies industry best-practice security measures to make sure your data remains secure and private. This means that no-one can access your data or private information without your permission. 

It also means that your data is stored and protected using state-of-the-art infrastructure. For extra peace of mind, you can read and access your data wherever and whenever you like.

Privacy protected

MYOB enforces a range of stringent security features to ensure that only you, and people you authorise, can access your data. To ensure the privacy of your data we:

• Enforce the use of passwords that are at least eight characters long, have upper and lower case letters and contain at least one number.
• Ensure that access to all data is username and password protected.
• Use best-practice SSL encryption and digital certification on all online transactions.
• Maintain full compliance with Australian and New Zealand data privacy guidelines.

In addition we recommend that, as an MYOB client, you:

• Choose a strong login password and do not share it with others.
• Use an industry recognised browser that supports our SSL encryption technology.

Secure data

Your data is protected with system architecture that is industry best-practice. It is kept in a highly secure storage facility that is constantly monitored and regularly audited to ensure its safety. MYOB worked with Microsoft® and other world class partners to design this system so that your data is continuously backed up, safe and secure. The system has:

• Been assessed and scanned for security vulnerability by an independent information security company.
• Passed application penetration testing conducted under industry best-practice guidelines and acceptance standards.
• Automatic daily backups.

Retrieving data

MYOB ensures you can retrieve your data any time. To ensure this, AccountRight Live users can:

• Save their data locally to their desktop or local server.
• Store their data in the cloud and access it anywhere and anytime from any internet connected PC.

If you use LiveAccounts, your stored data is always available online whenever you have an internet connection.
